We're very excited to be back in person in Florence Petersen Park tomorrow for the first Crafts In the Park of 2022! Join us and the @whistlerlibrary at 11am for stories, crafts, and a bit of Whistler history. (*If it is raining, Crafts In the Park will take place inside the Whistler Museum)
Flying over the Whistler area in the early 1970s, you can see that a lot has changed in the valley! This footage was captured by Jim Kennedy during a helicopter trip that started at today's Creekside, then often called Gondola, BC. What can you see that looks different? Film: Jim Kennedy Collection
Village Square, April 1981. We've been thinking about the construction of the Whistler Village quite a bit lately and, thanks to the Whistler Question, there are lots of photos in our collections that show the progress made between 1978 and 1984! While the Village Stroll and Village Square look much busier these days (even with today's rain), that wasn't always the case, and the future of Whistler Village looked questionable in the early 1980s. Find out more from a recent blog post at the link in our bio. Photo: Whistler Question Collection, 1981
